Complementary therapies

Some people with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) use complementary therapies to help them manage their condition. If you want to try out a complementary therapy you should discuss this with the physician overseeing the treatment of your IBD first.

Please remember that some complementary therapies are not regulated.

Other therapies that people with Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and microscopic colitis have tried include:

  • Massage
  • Aromatherapy
  • Reflexology
  • Reiki
